I'm glad there is image hosting websites out there for people that don't want the hassle hosting their own images but I prefer hosting my own stuff. I use the image hosting software called Chevereto to host my own images.

In already up to 126MB.

nostr.build website says they are at 1,595GB
that's crazy. It's expensive to host other people's media. Hope they are making money.

I use AWS S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, Wasabi sys, and more nearly daily for clients and myself. I could write code to just dynamically use one of those here too. But when it comes to posting on Nostr, I am supporting the "local" #Nostr biz people like @nostr.build. I believe there are other places who do this as well, but they are the ones I chose to use. This place won't grow if people don't support the devs developing on it. I know from my own experiences here too.

I completely recommend people host their own media, especially if it’s sensitive. We make enough money from accounts to keep it all afloat for now.

One recommendation is to remove the metadata from your images before posting it, people can get your location from it.

Yeh, totally understand and agree if it is sensitive.
I see lots of people online complaining about image hosting websites deleting their content. When I investigate their content. It is questionable content that most likely is illegal in some countries.
These complainers are freeloaders and should be hosting their own content.
These complainers usually won't pay for services.

There is way too many freeloaders on the internet. The fiat monetary system has allowed big tech companies financed by the banks to create free services that over the years has has created a lot of complainers, freeloaders and spammers.
Bitcoin is putting an end to all freeloaders online.
