 For an excellent construction of children's imagination, I highly recommend: The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia, they are books that tell stories that bring high and transcendent values.

 Good point about that. Heavy read though. Not sure she'll finish those until she reads some easier books first.

 Of course, I understand perfectly well. However, I believe it can work well, reading a few pages with the child, daily. This can further strengthen the parent/child bond, in addition to providing a playful and different experience for your children.
