It’s contradictory to talk about freedom while acting against it. Primal Wallet doesn’t allow Iranian users to select Iran. This can discourage new Iranian users from joining Nostr with @primal if they want to use the primary wallet. Although there are alternative wallets for setup, it doesn't address the main problem.
Primal uses strike.me as a custodial wallet. Meaning they old the money and have to comply with US banking and money transfer laws. You could use a wallet which is non-custodial and it’ll work. Unfortunately it’s harder to setup. Maybe @calle 👁️⚡👁️ could help you figure out cashu for a nostr wallet.
Thanks, Rabble. I use WOS, and I think that if Iranians are going to join Nostr, they will likely create an account on Primal first.

While it doesn't look like it, they are actually doing KYC, so you need to pass that. It's just a matter of using a vpn.
Last I checked, same is the case in Canada. Possibly due to regulatory requirements but not sure
