The internet as a concept and technology evolved over several decades, starting with the ARPANET, a project funded by the U.S. Department of Defense in the late 1960s. ARPANET was the first network to implement packet switching and laid the groundwork for the modern internet that led to advancements by others

	1.	Leonard Kleinrock: He developed the theory of packet switching, which became a fundamental part of how data is transmitted on the internet.
	2.	Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn: They are considered the “fathers of the internet” for developing the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), which allowed different networks to communicate with each other.
	3.	Tim Berners-Lee: He invented the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1989, a system of interlinked hypertext documents that allowed easy access to information over the internet. The WWW became the most recognizable part of the internet for most users.
