So how does nostr work? #asknostr #REDDIT
We sign json messages and send them over websockets to multiple servers for storage. Clients can pull down these messages for viewing. You can build censorship-resistant social networks, reddit-style communities, blogging platforms, etc using this tech.
How do I find different communities?
Hashtags
We tend to add “str” to things like #footstr #foodstr
Redditors finding #footstr is like when you stumble upon and obscure weird sub 😅
#pussython is not what it sees either
Not all clients support communities as of now. If you are on Damus. I suggest following hashtags you like.
I'm using Amethyst and that seems to have hashtag following so I'll get hashing! Thanks.
If you like a reddit experience, try out Zapddit.com or Satellite.Earth. Both have discovery functionality to discover communities. All is hooked and built on Nostr.
And what's really important is you can use the same keys (credentials) to sign in to *all* of the Nostr apps / clients. But don't copy/paste your nsec (credentials) to funky places. Start using nostr browser extensions from the beginning if you are not mobile only.
Here is a video trying to explain what nostr is about: https://youtu.be/aA-jiiepOrE?feature=shared
Hola, welcome. Fill out your bio with what you like, are in to etc, so others can see what you're about. Search for and follow #, and people, that you're interested in. #introductions for one.
Cool, thank you!
@Epimetheus It doesn't
