#WritersCoffeeClub Oct 4: How do you write the time? In text or numbers? Both? Why?

It depends how much the time features in a novel. It features heavily in Zero Magenta so I wrote the time in numbers - in fact I also used numbers for price and codes etc.

In other novels I tend to write all numbers in text.

I must admit, long numbers look terrible in text.

E.g. five million, three thousand, six hundred and forty-five 🤮 

 @5a43dd67 I agree. That's awful, I wouldn't want to read that. We have numbers for a reason. My style guide, as I recall, says to write it out only when it's short (they provide specific instances), but to use numbers otherwise.
