@Listens to Baroque while coding murder.exe :newt: @4638e645 @surk... Uh no? its easier in xmpp
@✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: @4638e645 @surk... nope. In Matrix, all I need is to set up Dendrite and STUN server. Both take like 5 minutes. With XMPP, I failed to do that because I'm too stoopid for XMPP.
@Listens to Baroque while coding murder.exe :newt: @✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: @4638e645 you're not too stupid for xmpp, xmpp is too stupid; it drags you down to it's level and beats you with experience
@✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: @4638e645 @surk... @Listens to Baroque while coding murder.exe :newt: matrix has vocal messages and stickers and all the bells and whistle. It also has a rainbow and confetti commands.
@6a72e15a @4638e645 @surk... @Listens to Baroque while coding murder.exe :newt: The mobile xmpp clients can do vocal messages
@✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: @4638e645 @surk... @6a72e15a this is the main problem with XMPP. Every client implements a different subset of features that XMPP provides, but no client implements them all. There is no reference XMPP client with a complete feature set. :akkowhy: Hey, I want feature A. What XMPP client do I use? :comfygeek: Client X has that! :akkowhat: cool! I also want feature B. Does client X support it? :comfygeek: nope, you need client Y for that. :akkowtf2: But I want both of those features! :comfygeek: lol get fucked! XMPP doesn't work this way! :akkoeew2: meh.. I'll just use Telegram or whatever then. :comfyrage: NOOOOO YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW COOL XMPP IS
@Listens to Baroque while coding murder.exe :newt: @4638e645 @surk... @6a72e15a All the mobile clients are fine lol, its desktop that sucks.
@✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: @Listens to Baroque while coding murder.exe :newt: @surk... @6a72e15a If So true. I could I'd use conversations on desktop but alas.
@4638e645 @Listens to Baroque while coding murder.exe :newt: @6a72e15a @surk... I use dino, its fine and gets the job done.
@✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: @Listens to Baroque while coding murder.exe :newt: @6a72e15a @surk... Which distro are you on? Dush told me on arch it broke a few times but personally on mint I never had issues, I moved to gajim when I switched to artix.
@4638e645 @Listens to Baroque while coding murder.exe :newt: @6a72e15a @surk... Openbsd and slackware :pepe_cofe:
@Listens to Baroque while coding murder.exe :newt: @✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: @4638e645 @6a72e15a funny how xml has the same issue
@surk... @✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: @4638e645 @Listens to Baroque while coding murder.exe :newt: main clients do support all features.
