Some of these folks never had to suffer through computer adversity and it shows. Like getting a BSOD because of IRQ conflicts. Or in the early days of the Internet when Ping of Death was a thing. Or how most SMTP servers were open relays so you could get mail bombed. Or the mother of all issues -- downloading that gif (in the name of science of course) on your 1200 baud modem only for someone in your house to pick up the landline hours into it and not making it past the shoulders. Nooooooooooooooooooooo!

The early days of the Internet was really the Wild West. In addition to being able to mail bomb, you could easily spoof because those open relays didn't do any sort of validation. During a prank war back in college, I may or may not have sent expulsion emails to people as the University President.
