@Vitor Pamplona, can you please implement a #Monero wallet into Amethyst (à la garnet)? I miss daily driving the lastest #Amethyst, and the demand for #Monero integration is demonstrably solid.
The beauty of FOSS is anyone can fork Amethyst and build whatever functionality they want into it.
 This! Thanks!
Just fork it and pull from upstream after each release. I don't know why Garnet is not doing it.
Garnet dev didn't even forked amethyst.
He copied the code and created another repo
The build instructions are not working
And he asks for money even for changing the app id
Are you interested in forking garnet?
Thanks for the info! I cannot install the apk on my Graphene.
If it's implemented like zaps your loosing privacy.
There is this point … and what’s the value of monero over bitcoin if it’s not privacy?
Feels like "Monero's too private; let's add a ton of distributed personal metadata around it!"
 Honestly. I’d rather not. 🔒
Nothing is broadcast to the Nostr network by default. The same thing as normally sending someone Monero. It just makes tipping someone on Nostr more convenient. Also, if you have a Monero address somewhere on your profile any Garnet user can one-click tip any of your notes.
You can choose not to broadcast a note with a Monero payment, keeping g the tip completely private.
It's also the default tip mode 👌
What do you mean be done with the pay to dev work? Implementing Monero doesn't solve income for devs. 🤔
Monero is getting more essential nowadays. Makes sense to have it inside nostr as common currency.
Garnet has a lot of promise but is lagging behind hard. Didn't know about the weird licensing stuff either. Needs a lot of work, but seems relatively simple for the most part.
Can't we just pay for features? Like a reverse bounty list... A wish-list with multi-sig escrow after project completion or deliverables? Is this the github killer app?
Fair on the dev trying a different revenue model. Market will take it or leave it
Isn't that how the most popular Monero projects are sustained? https://ccs.getmonero.org
Yeah, he generated a bunch of good will that could've led to him making a ton of money, but he's quickly squandering it.

If the guy were present in the community, talking with his userbase, doing bounties for feature requests instead of just being silent hoping for bounties to fix bugs, he could be getting a ton more. The community of garnet users exploded overnight because there was a big demand for it and he created something that met that demand, now it seems he is just letting it falter. Sometimes the wrong Dev can really fuck things up.
Who is he? Would be great to have him here.

I tend to think forks are good, even when they don't work or don't implement the things people want. I think this is the case here. Maybe what we need to find is another dev that can join both projects and keep things up to date without much fuzz.
I'm not opposed to monero, bitcoin and liquid support (see my profile), but when it comes to garnet, I stopped caring about garnet ever since I realized it's build process depended on a module by retrnull whose license is not a standard open source license

@Ava can you fork garnet, modify app/build.gradle, set the applicationId on line 11, build and sideload the apk?

There's already a PR for this by @greenart7c3 that just needs to be merged, I think though it's a better idea for him to take over the project if he wants.
can you please explain a little more your issue with it
I don't think he's the one with the bounty. But, @greenart7c3 has a pull request for the app ID issue that I opened. I think retrnull is not interested in maintaining garnet, just like you said I think he wanted to release a proof of concept.

@greenart7c3 would you be willing to complete all the bounties at https://bounties.monero.social/posts/147/garnet-maintenance-sync-upstream-new-icons-resolve-amethyst-dual-install-conflict-etc create a release on your fork of garnet and collect the bounty? I don't think retrnull is going to merge PRs. You'd wind up taking up maintenance but it would be something you'd pick up some xmr for, especially since youre on nostr, I bet you'd get tons of Monero tips too that retrnull would be getting if he had a nostr profile. It looks to me like the hardest part is going to be sync with upstream amethyst.

Don't forget to change the xmr donation address in your fork if you decide to do it.
Yeah I gave up Garnet for now I will wait till something solid appears hope more monero devs appear.
Why not both? Atomic swaps are a thing right?

Does the dev have an npub?
Very odd behavior considering they forked a social client
Yeah that's why I didn't insert my key into it. I agree 100%
