Currently not reliable one that I know about. I did a fallback to websockets if the device can not get the token from firebase. However websockets will disconnect after the app is killed or longer in the background.

Still can be used to tryout / showcase the functionality, if your nostr client is on another device.
 Did you consider supporting ntfy?
https://ntfy.sh/
As I understand it, it would enable to send notifications to the device but not read and process them by Minibits.

The F-droid flavor of the app uses UnifiedPush, the protocol behind ntfy. With Ntfy installed, just go to notifications or the app settings and activate it. That should be all you need to make it work.

Keep in mind that the free version of Ntfy is limited to just a 100 notifications and there are a lot of rate limiting on the free version. This is particularly bad if Ntfy is also serving notifications for other apps.
How can other apps access notification delivered to ntfy app?
 Is there a non-rate-limiting server?
You can pay and they remove all the limits.
 Do they take sats?
 I don't think so. :(
