**Reduced VAT abolition on produce will drive shadow economy: association**

The plan to stop applying a reduced value-added tax rate – 5% – to fruits and vegetables grown in Latvia next year has caused confusion and dissatisfaction among the Association of Latvian Fruit and Vegetable Traders. The association says it will once again boost the shadow economy and be a blow to local producers.
