 I see no reason for too big to fail banks and managers like Blackrock to enter Bitcoin at this stage. 

Except control and attempting to undermine its growth. Like they do with their other enemies. 
 Unless they aren't too big to fail.

 The biggest of them are always too big to fail. They are the lube. No lube, economy squeaky, governments scared af. 
 Game theory? 
 Their game is fiat and they are the people that control the central banks and governments economic and fiscal policies. Why would they help subvert their own game? 
 Maybe they have realised they can't kill it so need to hedge it. You are right though, it is to have some sense of control over bitcoin through market capitilisation. Just shows that they don't understand it. . . . 
 But they'll have so many voting rights at the next Bitcoin shareholders meeting! What if they try to change the CEO?!
