Most #atheists have belief

They have a belief system that they think is #science and is true

And that what they believe is true and what everyone else believes is just a belief

And most of them believe in the mechanistic #materialist world view

But actually their world view is based on 10 central assumptions

One is that nature is mechanical, a machine, not an organism

It is inanimate, purposeless

Another is that matter is unconscious
The whole #universe is made of unconscious matter and therefore, there is no place for God, , spirits, angels

Well, these are assumptions, not facts, not tested and proven by science

They are just taken for granted

The trouble with that is the very existence of #consciousness

How can we have consciousness in a universe that atheists believe is entirely made of unconscious, inanimate matter?

All religions are based on the idea that there are forms of consciousness beyond the human level

That the universe comes forth from a conscious ground of being

That there is an underlying consciousness to the whole of #nature and the universe That our consciousness is part of a much larger system of consciousness

A real discussion would involve discussing the atheists world view as well as the religious world view on a level playing field

One that involves scepticism of the assumptions of atheism and science as well as the religious

Radical scepticism is a good thing when applied to all world views

But the atheists take a partial scepticism, where they take for granted their own beliefs and use a laser beam of sceptical thinking against everyone else's, assuming that their own are invulnerable

In all fairness, scepticism should be applied to all belief systems, including the atheists

 A proper physicist, or student of nature, would never remain an atheist.  Too many provably unprovable things in modern science
