 Why do you hold bitcoin?
 To save for the mayday
 The inevitable.
So I don't become broke. And to stick it to the Fed.
 Sovereignty.
Freedom from corrupt and overreaching governments, regimes, debasement of issued currency receipts that exacerbate war and restrictions, of choice, movement, ability to save or transact. A fair and open base layer money anyone with minimal hardware can verify, interact with and participate in without permission. You could theoretically memorize a pneumonic for and take with you borderlessly. If it weren't for that damn boat you lost your memory and corn on.

Oh yeah. And ngu or whatever got me here originally.
TL;DR: it’s not fiat nor is it a shitcoin.
I HODL because it is the right thing to do. Not just for all the many many individual reason. Fiat has really hurt the world of incetives. It is a shame. Now we have Bitcoin's big picture. It is the only moral way to store value.
To be in the 1% crew
To spend it later let’s be real
 Sovereignity. Peace of mind. Technology.
On a purely technical level, because I mined some, back when doing so was still profitable for an average person. I thought the governments would quickly ban it, and it would essentially go to zero, so I bought stuff from webshops that accepted it (some of the stuff I still use), but I saved a little bit just in case. Which of course turned out to be a good thing.

I'm not as convinced as most of you that it will survive for a long time and appreciate extremely much more, but I didn't pay that much for it, so I might as well hold on to it, or at least most of it, "just in case it catches on". If it actually becomes the money of the world like most people here think, I wouldn't want to be without, and I'm not the kind of person who likes to have flashy things etc., I never was, and I have a job, so I don't see any immediate want or need to spend it.

I have also mined a little bit more with old tech that works well as a space heater.
 Freedom.

Or better yet, sovereignty as someone else mentioned.
🍻🧡👊🏻
For my future and my children's future
Who said i do? why do you ask? how is that intelligence paycheck huh!?
To properly save my time and effort for future consumption or to pass it to future generations. Without worrying about it being stolen from me via Tom foolery.
 Worth millions some day

Backed by energy and limited supply⚡️
Fuckin’ the best store of value conceivable imho
So my kids have a better future
 Gives me hope.
Because I will not hold value in a currency that another man can print for free
My future,my freedom and I dont want to lost purchasing power for inflation, and I believe that bitcoin will one day be the world's store of value , I'm still poor, but little by little I can get out of any situation with my work and not giving money to the state, but saving it for myself
To hopefully defund the US government. The most evil sate that exists today - just based on body count over the last 25 years.
To hold Bitcoin is to embrace the future.

To believe in individual sovereignty, in the power of decentralized networks, in the enduring human spirit.

It is a commitment to freedom, a defiance against the encroaching darkness. A choice that I make for the sake of all who yearn for a world where truth prevails and humanity flourishes.

I've spent more time looking into bitcoin than I ever did with stocks, and learning self custody make holding it fun. And I got bored of my GIC with its rates. Keep it simple.
It's the closest thing to Biblical "honest weights and measures" available.
