Prior to Starlink, in 2016/17 I built this in the middle of nowhere Wyoming. Took me about 5 months to figure out. A cheap solar panel, a couple car batteries in a tool box, and microwave about 200 yds to receivers in n the house. Tried fiber lines etc…and always had power issues. Linked up to a cell tower about 19 miles away, and got ~15 mbps down. Never any downtime in 5 years.

Then Starlink showed up and I plugged it in, kinda sorta pointed a dish up, and had 140 mbps down in like 3 minutes. Still amazed several years later.

That’s freaking cool that you figured that out!
 Why a microwave tho?
I tried running fiber but I kept having power issues. I’m not expert but it ended up being way simpler given the challenges to the build.
 Interesting
Starlink is a game changer. The portability is amazing and they even have a more portable dish now.
