 lihat video ini bikin lebih bersyukur tinggal di Indonesia. kehidupan di cuba secara ekonomi ternyata sulit sekali. ekonomi sulit akibat embargo dari dunia luar. karena negara komunis, di kuba semuanya diatur dan dikuasai oleh pemerintah. mata uangnya kena hiperinflasi, hanya berlaku didalam negeri saja, tidak ada minimarket apalagi supermarket swasta. minimarket adanya milik pemerintah, namun untuk membeli produk yg dijual didalamnya warga harus antri dan hanya bisa bayar pakai uang semacam CBDC yang dikeluarkan oleh pemerintah. untuk mendapatkannya warga  harus menukarkan uang peso atau dolarnya mengikuti kurs yang telah ditetapkan. meski bayar namun kuallitas barang yang dijual seringkali  rendah. internet pelan, bahkan makan ikan telur dan susu sudah  termasuk makanan mewah. wow... 

bersyukur ada bitcoin. bitcoin melindungi tabungan warga kuba dari inflasi, dibandingkan menyimpan uang dalam peso kuba (cup) ataupun dollar.  btw tidak ada cex di kuba. binance, coinbase, dsb nya dilarang beroperasi. warga kuba mendapatkan bitcoin lewat transaksi p2p, lewat group telegram maupun pertemuan2 kumpul2 bitcoiner. dibalik kesulitan2 ini, justru ada hikmahnya, yakni warga justru belajar mendapatkan bitcoin tanpa perlu kyc, tanpa perlu memberikan data diri ke pihak manapun, sehingga privasi  tetap terjaga. adopsi bitcoin dan jalinan sosial dalam komunitas juga terbangun secara alami dari akar rumput.

South Korea back in 1945 had a 15KRW to 1USD exchange rate. Now that exchange is 1,323KRW to 1USD but they live "better" than Cuba?

Might be an interesting future piece there.
