In William Gibson's "Neuromancer" series, ONO and SENDAI are two Japanese companies that work together to create the "ONO-SENDAI" series of cyberspace brain interfaces.

 I think I need to reread neromancer.
It's been FAR too many years. 

 I was just about to say that it looks pretty much as what Gibson describes in Neuromancer.  

 ono is also a fish name in Hawaiian
it also means delicious  

 Gibson was a consultant for the production of the movie. He wrote the story too.
