So much things in the nature and life is based on statistics/chance and the ways how to deal with it.

The more tightly you try to organize stuff in life, the more brittle it will get, because you left no room for an error nor for a surprise or an opportunity. The other extreme (no planning at all) has no direction so it's less likely that over long enough time you get somewhere (though there is a small chance of course).
