 @d203437d it's not really relevant for governments, banks and similar as they have to collect identities by law. They don't have any choice, and neither do any of their customers. So there is often just no choice. This is more about how to try ensure that those who must collect identities, can do it in a much more secure manner.

For "nice" to have businesses, I don't provide my proof of ID anyway. It means now, too, that I either can't claim tax rebates for charities, or I no longer donate.
