 One of my favorite things about my home city of Boston is that our old red-light district in the 1970s was actually nicknamed "The Combat Zone." Amazing.

When your older brother's college friend would stagger in the door at 7am with three torn condom wrappers, a black eye, and a raging hangover, you'd gasp and just know: "Tommy went to the Combat Zone last night!"

 @7b64062d I do remember when people called it that! When Emerson College moved a dorm close to it, I remember a lot of chatter about it. Today, it's pretty gentrified, I think.
