While John Locke’s work is interesting, it should be noted that the concept of property through labour can also be utilised and has been utilised for the complete opposite of what I suppose is your ideology. People who follow John locke’s philosophy to the letter can make and have made( notably during the colonisation of the US, “manifest destiny” )the argument that a property that is not currently utilised, notably land, can be stolen, because it is not being worked on. It’s how the US justified the theft of land.
I haven't spoken to anyone this cycle that gave me the impression they've *consented* to either major party candidate. It's been "lesser of two evils" across the board. Which begs the question, is our government in fact legitimate, or LARPing as "of the people, by the people, and for the people"?
