 We moved a very rootbound generic shrub from a resin wine barrel planter to a nice spot on the banks of the drainage pond, and now I’ve got the special joy of A Big Empty Planter. Maybe the fedi will inspire me. What would *you* put in a big resin planter with one bottom hole?

How about a whole bunch of types of mint seeds? Doesn’t that stuff grow in all different zones, and do best segregated to a pot so it does take over? (I only know where I am, may not be true for you)
 @12e2f193 some random suggestions:
Flowering currant (Ribes sanguineum, a PNW native)
Flowering quince, which is a beast in the ground but does better in a pot, get the contorted kind for added off-season interest)
A fig tree, does well in Puget Sound even in containers, but you’ll need full sun

 @12e2f193 Try something new. Some kind of aspirational plant that you aren't sure about. Then put the pot on wheels so you can move it to optimal locations for the plant.
