 Love the drawing of your dog, very nice. 

A polarizing filter helps a lot, and a small aperture/longer exposure to pick up max detail.

 actual camera yes true with polarizing lens filter

more glass=better optics

but you can do a janky setup with a polarizing filter clipped over your phone camera in the meantime

 I know, tried to sketch a small cat earlier this year to see if I still can. Graphic design software with undo feature got me spoiled 😕
