I'm working my way towards chopping some wood. Cool weather is great chopping weather.  

 I wouldn’t be making this public if I were you. In the long cold dark winter when utility prices sky rocket and/or heat gets shut off, people will sniff this stuff out like a, well… large-ish kid in candy store. 

 Haha a pile of candy with a locked gate and a couple shot shells loaded with rock salt for their effort.

 I have about 1/8 that. but I just go to my brothers who has a woods and lotsa chopped up wood. I gotta pay off my nephews who laborerrd a bit for it, but it's a cheap vig 

 Exactly what i did today as well. Cut and hauled another 3 cords, now just need to split it and stack with the rest. Can never have too much firewood. 

 Just living these evening temperatures and doing this with fall in the air. 

 beats the hell out of suffering in the heat during peak summer

 Yes I should do mine too before the roof gets too treacherous. When I was on the fire department this time of year was always extra pay every month because the volume of chimney fires would really spike. 

 Have you ever used Chimfex chimney fire extinguishers? Are they any good? 

 I have not. When I was on the department we just used a charged 1 1/2” line and a long piece of chain. It usually made a pretty good mess in peoples living rooms though. That was a long time ago. 

 They are like a road flare you throw in the stove. It's supposed to remove the oxygen. It keep a couple around, but never had to use one.

Splitting and stacking wood was a daily chore for 9 months of the year.
