A few years back, I was traveling through a remote area in Eastern Europe, where cash still ruled and card payments were pretty uncommon. One evening, I found myself in a small village, needing a place to stay, but I had completely run out of local currency, and the nearest ATM was a day’s walk away. I ended up chatting with the innkeeper, and to my surprise, he’d actually heard of Bitcoin! Since I’m a proud Bitcoiner, I offered to pay for the room with Bitcoin. He was curious but agreed—as long as I could show him how to set up a wallet. So that night, not only did I find a cozy place to stay, but I also helped introduce someone to Bitcoin for the very first time.
In 2016 I bought a breast pump for 0.5 BTC.
Unexpectedly went to a booty club (strip club w/o nudity) with some bitcoiners and we orange pilled the bouncer, the dancer, and waitress at our table. The waitress was so cool she accepted my tip in bitcoin! It was a completely random and expected night but we even chatted about it with the Uber driver on the way home. He didn’t take the orange pill but definitely took one of my stickers😂
2021 bought Ziverdo Kits from India mart. Ivermectin etc. could not pay with PayPal etc. btc to the rescue
Firsr time I paid for something in person was in Japan. I bought a beer at Bic Camera (kinda like walmart they sell everything).
Wrote a signed transaction on paper, sent it on a pigeon, and waited a couple days until it was rebroadcast to my node.
I know it's boring but every transaction is and remains interesting for me. It is all about continuity 🧡
