I listened to Balaji when he was sounding the alarm on covid and stocked up on everything a month before people started freaking out and the toilet paper ran out. I’ll probably be listening to him again whenever Mandibles happens. He’s not right on everything, but he sure does know more than most people and can break things down and explain them well.
If a person makes many predictions, some of them are bound to come true. We pay attention to the things that come true and ignore all the things that don’t, which gives is a skewed view of that person.
Of course I’m not dismissing his intellect (it’s clear he’s very smart) and his ability to look into the future based on insights he has or gathers. But my point stands. No disrespect meant.
