 He belittled the very essence of Bitcoin. I don’t think that’s something you “clarify” by later stating you support it. The damage is done. 

 100% agree that he misrepresented some things and spoke in a manner not as eloquent as we would of liked. He’s human and it’s ok to misspeak or have the message you’re delivering not hit the mark as you intended. Are we going to cancel people for this? He could have doubled down on his previous comments but didn’t. 

 Well, if the bad takes don't matter, the good takes don't matter either. People do not cancel him. They just stop caring. It's always the same pattern. I think it's actually a good thing. Precisely because he's just a human being like all of us. His opinion shouldn't matter so much to so many people. 

 I’m not saying the good or bad takes don’t matter. But someone can do and say 99 good things but one bad thing throws out the other 99 things? That doesn’t make sense to me.

I’m with you though. I appreciate who he is and what he has done for the Bitcoin space. But I’m going to keep stacking and self custody my coin regardless of what he says or does. 

 The black swan is important because it indicates that the white ones aren't as important as you thought.

With 7000 odd txn frequency , #Bitcoin self custody is meant for those who settle in billions ..not the mom pop shop ..

For the big ones - Bitcoin reduces settlement from 3 days to 30 minutes.
 Which is an order of magnitude efficient moneytary system .. and thus it helps poor .. cuz now you can instantly remit anywhere at a fraction of fees ..

the fuss was about the risks of holding your bitcoin with large custodians and 'inflammatory' comments made towards certain groups of Bitcoiners and hardware wallet developers.

Throwing unwarranted shade on people making Bitcoin secure is not "spreading Bitcoin with love."

Other than that, I couldn't care less what he says or does, but if it comes at the expense of others, it should be and will be called out.
