Finally made it to our Patagonia spot after a long journey south! Arrived at 2am on a Saturday, carefully de-rigged the kayak from my truck, and crossed the high-water river in pitch darkness to reach our place. https://i.nostr.build/veGax3LsHwMDNgR8.jpg https://i.nostr.build/ixppte40vshI5VZW.jpg https://i.nostr.build/UEiSiqZp1GB37Oll.jpg https://i.nostr.build/yTUKCdED7gib9nSY.jpg https://i.nostr.build/RBtatRFxkEb81Lty.jpg What greeted me was wild - trees down everywhere on the property! One crashed onto our shed, but thankfully the dome stayed intact. Nature had definitely been busy while we were gone. https://i.nostr.build/r9TkIv5iS9m3UjT7.jpg https://v.nostr.build/kc1x81mTcGBng8vO.mp4 https://i.nostr.build/LppQrvuaCNZ3e6hf.jpg First week was pure manual labor - clearing brush and getting camp operational again. Used the low water days strategically to ferry across new materials and solar panels. https://v.nostr.build/y6wPhES6ww9jYiV1.mp4 https://v.nostr.build/MblFP8nHcQmyxyHu.mp4 Major win: our dome weathered everything perfectly. No mold, no mice, all locks intact. Pretty impressive for being alone in the wilderness! https://i.nostr.build/JdIcNGoxAdSeyb0U.jpg https://i.nostr.build/41r64GPPtNXH7vHG.jpg Daily life here is... different. I work my day job from the computer (turns out being on a remote island is great for productivity) Then tackle camp projects during dawn and dusk. For me it’s a perfect balance. https://i.nostr.build/mggpVUoNJ7NxiSma.jpg https://i.nostr.build/x6VMucmk9Zjib5WH.jpg But here's where it got intense... One morning I discovered our Cataraft - our lifeline for materials - had broken free and was heading straight for 15km of Class 5 rapids! 😱 https://i.nostr.build/fR23Owzwb9fv9MVO.jpg https://i.nostr.build/v2xpUAD8wo0BS2r5.jpg https://i.nostr.build/3gXT9yUQoWzfEOIR.jpg Talk about luck - a friend spotted it caught in trees 1km downstream. Immediately grabbed my kayak and raced to the rescue. Found it tangled in branches, still loaded with milled wood! https://v.nostr.build/FX2v9ZJaQgMbRm27.mp4 The dome's becoming quite the paradox - running water, electricity, comfy futon sofas right in the middle of the wilderness. From tents to a functional house in just a season. Feeling proud and grateful. https://i.nostr.build/SS11C396ZMjxDhlm.jpg Now pivoting attention to installing new solar panels and breaking ground on 2 smaller bedroom domes for friends and family. Summer's looking epic! Can't wait to keep building and soaking in this incredible place. 🌞 https://i.nostr.build/qloOpckD3CPQjdz2.jpg https://i.nostr.build/cwncoaLT8H7U22oV.jpg #Patagonia #OffGridLiving #Adventure #bitcoin #outdoors #river #patagonia

Totally
How long from first scouting the property to now? What was the total cost?
That is definitely an adventure. Glad to hear the dome was intact and the raft was recovered successfully. Those pics pics are fantastic.
If you can dream it... nostr:nevent1qqsy8sl0v98yx6nuksu8gpza2p5djatkm8j355zv30utnesdsyx2easpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0qgs0t7vt54qytgh63he2jlp4lscznxu7p4g6wqtetszqe2qvakhnndqrqsqqqqqpckdh64
