If you sell a physical product and you facilitate the transaction via Nostr, how do you safely collect the shipping information of the purchaser?
Not a nostr DM. You could use pgp. But a lot of people dont use that. I would prolly use something like simplex or whatever to get their address from them and then delete it as soon as I'm done creating a shipping label and putting the product out.
Great question, I often think about this. Some kind of self-destructing message would be ideal for peace of mind
Yeah but it’s easily copied before destruction, perhaps read only once then destruct.
I've used Nostr DMs and SimpleX.
Have you tried 0xChat?
I have. It runs horribly for me. It's essentially unusable.
Oh sorry for the inconvenience. Have you tried the latest version, Derek? I fixed some performance issues.
Sometimes I see some delays in the chat on 0xchat.
Message delay or lag?
It takes time to show up, I can preview it but then when I enter the chat I can not see anything. Sometimes it appears after minutes waiting into the conversation but I can not be sure it will. It’s not predictable.. I checked and I don’t have any auto delete option active. In the other hand I like the Cashu/Mints integration. That’s great.

Some messages do not load in sequence. Then I need to go back to previous messages to check the response because for some reason they load later. But this doesn't happen all the time, it's intermittent. I was unsure if it had anything to do with the relay. In general, I really liked 0xchat. Btw, thank you 💜
thank you, so sometimes you can’t load the reply message?
I believe I'm on the latest Google Play version. It's still very slugging and seems to not finish loading. There's always a spinning wheel in the middle of the app. I'm a bit unique with a large contact list and lots of DMs. It could be me and no necessarily the app. Keep up the great work.
I would always use Simplex, but many of my buyers use Nostr's DMs.
I dunno, I just use Nostr DM, Y’know?
if an npub account is used by someone that wants any level of anonymity, putting ones shipping info in a signed message that could be exposed is prolly not a good idea. another good option is to use simpleX, you can make a burner user for each transaction in a few clicks.
Coolest method I’ve experienced was suggested by @papaslag 🔥 https://image.nostr.build/070eb190763eeb148508d54ee704284a962d9a8c5ac0974417db30dadaf96f95.jpg
great question! I was curious about this too, to ship fresh roasted coffee beans!
