If you're concerned about wealthy individuals bank-rolling political parties, you might want to (for a moment) shift your focus from the #Tories. 

In the first half of this year around half of the money the #LabourParty raised was from two individuals  (who between them donated over £5mn between them).

They are Lord David Salisbury (£3mn) & ex-autoglass boss Gary Lubner (£2.2mn). 

Now as it happens these are both 'reasonable' people, but it does show UK #politics remains tied to the wealthy!

 @43d7c4ea also Reform UK Party, which is deeply in the red, spending far more than its income and entirely bankrolled by its millionaire leader. 

 @43d7c4ea there must be a better way of funding politics, although I’ve yet to think of a good system myself.
