Thatโs not really the issue, the issue has to do with NWC disconnecting every time you close the app
Ahh gotcha, I honestly havenโt used NWC much but thereโs always manually taking the invoice and paying that
Iโve gotten so comfy with the ease of use of NWC I donโt think I can go back to manual invoices

Google 'conflict of interests.' You are attempting to use Apple's phone (yes, they really consider it theirs) to bypass Apple's payment service business. They litterally get paid to make sure zaps are difficult or broken.
iOS 18 beta issue with NWC has nothing to do with this, I run a script that bypasses their bs in order to have zaps on Damus, the issue is with NWC.
