@d6c53e4a Death Road to Canada, which is an exceptionally goofy zombie game with SNES-level graphics and absurdist writing. 

 @d6c53e4a Spiritfarer is one of my favorite games of all time. Firewatch as well, although the developer was since acquired by Valve. 

 @d6c53e4a Citizen Sleeper is probably pretty well known at this point but it's really good. 

 @d6c53e4a I wouldn't call it lesser known, but slay the spire is super fun to pick up for a few runs and then leave be for a while. I keep coming back to it, definitely worth the price for me.

Definitely a masterpiece for me!

If you want a cozy, silly, well-written and tactical RPG, go for #BugFables , it's like Paper Mario mixed with Bug's Life
For a more heart-warming, exploration-focused game that is quite digestable, A Short Hike is my "go-to game". Great to fight depression and a dark mood. It's all about that island and its visitors (and some rangers).

 @d6c53e4a I recently just played through #EnGarde and absolutely adored it. The studio that made it is a few years old and iirc they are all students at the same video game development collage.

 @d6c53e4a Death and Taxes. Scarlet Hollow. Astrologaster. I’m not sure if they exactly count as indie games, but they are some random fun little games I found on Steam and absolutely loved from the start.

I would say that some really great ones are Hades, Into a Dream, Valheim, FTL, Fez, Braid, Sea of Stars, My Time At Sandrock
