We tried out @simplex at #SovEng for group chats and DMs. It's one of those products you really *want* to like, but that is not there yet.
Some messages arrive eventually and are not properly timestamped, this creates a lot of confusion and frustration. DM'ing people often gets stuck in a connecting state forever (even when both devices are online).
I really hope they can fix this, for now, it's unusable.
I have no issues with simplex every now and then a timestamp is incorrect, but that's it
Thoughts on #Keet and pear tech?
I have my personal reservations with it but works great overall.
Not sure tbh, is Keet open source yet?
Keet as app itself is not but the p2p tech holepunch and pear runtime is. Only these two apps so far have been built with the tech.
Just need more builders and devs to review pear and holepunch protocols
https://pears.com/?section=showcases
I don't think they'll get traction with devs, but they have a shit ton of money so who knows
Yeah since its funded by tether that's where I skepticism arises
TLDR why you think little traction with devs building on top of holepunch & pear?
Top down approach. I hope i'm wrong
I wish the notifications had message previews.
