At the time, it was both a response to Jewish communism in Russia, and the most expedient way to help the German people recover from economic devastation. It was socialist in the ways that they helped the German people, for example paying off 25% of their mortgage for every German child they had (free house and a medal if they had 4 kids). I'm not a socialist but there's no denying that switching from Jewish communism to German socialism constituted an economic miracle for Germany in a very short time.
I deny it Germans (like Americans) survived at Great Depression levels throughout the 30s and 40s Germany pursued Autarky under Hitler in the 30s, which was a disaster that necessitated the war
In what way was it a disaster?
"Weekly earnings increased by 19% in real terms from 1933 to 1939, but this was largely due to employees working longer hours, while the hourly wage rates remained close to the lowest levels reached during the Great Depression. In addition, reduced foreign trade meant rationing of consumer goods like poultry, fruit, and clothing for many Germans."
