Catholic nostriches out there? I know I'm not the only one, and I bet most of us attend the TLM...
@Laeserin might be able to point you in the right direction 😊
There are a lot of us on here, including the TLM crew and some Eastern Orthodox and High Angelicans. One minute, let me get up a list, for you.
I'm Christian but i'm a weirdo... i am now fully convinced that the angels and Jesus are all humans and that it is literal where it talks about the angels taking wives and breeding giants in Genesis, and that these guys, both fallen and ascended have been visiting us and either trying to free us from slavery or enslave us, and almost everyone has angelic ancestry and that Jesus and his army are coming soon to bring judgement and evac the elect to resettle in new worlds, at least for the next 1200 years or so hm was that too much?
Wrote a whole article. ☺️ https://njump.me/naddr1qvzqqqr4gupzphtxf40yq9jr82xdd8cqtts5szqyx5tcndvaukhsvfmduetr85ceqqxnzde38qunjdfjxqmnvvpsmqhf5w
this is new... @pipe 's pfp but it's you 😂 https://image.nostr.build/e86c9c22750f2adf2f05fba5d71860e68e91f53143f6329fe19b6ac05db761dc.jpg
I've just never caught it displayed like that before... might be the first time I've seen something boosted to a group 😂
Pipe is my community owner account, so that people who have muted me don't miss out on the community. I haven't been using communities, for a while, as it's a bit of a construction site and so many people can't see the notes, but it does help get around the whole networking problem. I'm glad @nielliesmons is working on forums and groups, again, as that's been one of my favorite use cases.
I stepped back from them for the same reason. The first round had a lot of disposable experiments, but there's definitely enough interest in the concept & once things are a bit more cohesive, communities will be great for user retention. The plethora of stuff that could be improved is ever-expanding, but each seems to get a little bit better every time the topic cycles through. 😊
well, i blame my father, who is a nutty apocalypse guy and i was already learning about stuff like the CFR and the Trilateral Commission from funny little books he had... and then when i was 19, with a head full of mushrooms someone played me Snog and i am hearing all this stuff about these same organisations again (almost all psychedelics in some part of south/central america have a name that means saint peter, the guardian of heaven) then late last year i read The Apocalypse of Yajnavalkya and i could not unsee it, and have been steadily reading through all the interesting apocrypha around the history you find in short form in Genesis reminds me, i really need to get an actual bible, but i don't know what is the most accurate, I know KJV is regarded as quite authoritative but a little funny in places, probably i just need a concordance along with it, one with good detail of contentious translations and references to the hebrew, greek and aramaic manuscripts
Yeah, go wiki-version. That's how the scholars do it, anyway, and then you don't have to chase all of the translations down yourself. I like to use the Bible search engines and then read through the same passage in different versions.
would be nice to have an offline version tho, maybe there is an open source one that you can run on your own machine? i know christians have been making such applications for years
I'm sure there is. Scholars would want them, but I'm too lazy to look. Obvious good use case for the publishing events, of course. Publish the Bible in various versions and compare/analyze the passages by embedding the versions into wiki pages. Biblestr
omg, a bible DVM with all these things would be an amazing project, surely there is some bitcoin rich christian who would want to see this, that would be epic
Nostr adds a social aspect to it that that these Bible sites usually only get by having a separate chatroom with hyperlinks, or something. So that all the Bible nerds can debate and rant at each other in the highlights or post competing wiki explanations of certain passages.
which would be soooo awesome although there is a number of cliche debates i hear people talk about from the various christian forums about "works doctrine" and "once saved always saved" and all this mumbojumbo hooey ... trying to construct some objective metric without having the spiritual tech that will be used to actually scan your whole memory and actual life oh yeah there i go again
a wiki and open debate mean there doesn't have to be consensus
no, indeed, but it would be a great anchor point for actual interesting disagreements to be elaborated exhaustively which would probably move the needle a bit
The most controversial topic on Nostrapedia right now (according to my web of trust, that is … I can’t guarantee your WoT will agree) is gender identity. Who coulda guessed! 😝😂 brainSToRm.ninja https://i.nostr.build/PO6DW.jpg
the delusional psychotic vegans are upset that there is christian, scientifically minded, computer programmers out there who are making it possible for someone to offend their doctrines
I hope you’re up and downvoting the ones that need it, as you see fit! 👍🏻👎🏻
i mainly confine myself to muting people who really are so out of their minds they think they are being helpful by slinging obvious adhominems and various logical fallacies and i often unmute them later to see if they are gonna behave themselves, oddly, they mostly give up on me after one or two hard encounters
You can also upvote and downvote individual wiki articles at brainstorm.ninja. If you’re in my extended network, you will have a direct impact on my content feed at Nostrapedia. Which is how I benefit from your evaluation of any given article.
ah well i mostly am busy struggling with my own existence day to day and trying to write code and getting way too caught up in the microblog chitchat nostr wikis in general are on my radar but i don't really have anything to add and i don't think they are big enough to be helpful sources of information especially not in my narrow field but i will remember you suggested to react to these things, so if something especially interests you to get some feedback on just drop the links
This is all I can find, for Nostrapedia. Got a link? https://nostrabet.com/de/nostrapedia/
Right now it’s at brainSToRm.ninja — I may move it to nostrapedia.com at some point. https://brainSToRm.ninja
