 #WordWeavers 13 — What animal would you like as a muse and why?

A kassilar! An animal from my upcoming book #WildFlowersElectricBeasts that makes music with its entire body while dancing and just moving around 😊 It's just so effortlessly creative while having fun — exactly the spirit I'm going for 😁
 @d73175df Yeah... it's hard to top an animal that makes music with its body haha
 @66e742bb That's true 😁
 @d73175df completely off topic, but this reminded me immediately of a conversation I had this morning with a man who was trimming his hedge. He'd found a rather colourful caterpillar curled up on a leaf, took a picture of it, and asked Google Lens what it was.....

"It's a blackberry", said Google Lens. AI has a long way to go.
 @50e0db1a Lol 😆
 @d73175df Making music by moving is so cool!
 @c5e9df23 It just has different musical organs all over its body, and basically any movement produces sound 😊
 #WordWeavers 14 — Does your antagonist have any likable or redeemable qualities?

I assume they do, just like any complex humans. But we only encounter them through the MC's experiences with them, when they display their worst qualities. Maybe some of those will seem likable to you (to me, they aren't, given the context 😁).

These are collective qualities of 2 antags that *might* be likable:
- loyal to her company
- self-confident & brave
- a leader
- driven to achieve goals
 @d73175df Interesting point, that any antagonist is portrayed as the protagonist views them. 😃
 @7b682b86 Unless they get their own POV!
 @d73175df Which is always fascinating, though I haven't done it that many times since my antagonist is more often part of the mystery. 😃
 @7b682b86 I haven't done it at all, but I like it as a reader 😊
 @d73175df For me, it depends. If the antagonist is an active character in the story then I usually do. 😃

What I don't like (and most people SEEM to like so I'm in the minority), is the killer POV in a mystery where each of their chapters is purposely vague so you can't guess who they are. 🤔
 @7b682b86 It's been a long time since I read a mystery, so I don't remember how I felt about stuff like this, but it seems like something I might enjoy or be annoyed with, depending on how it was done 😁
 @d73175df It always comes down to skill. 😆
 #WordWeavers 15 — Is your MC neat or messy?

Sammah is really messy. He has ADHD and lives in a tiny apartment, which results in him quickly cramming all available spaces with utensils, piles of clothes, empty mugs, etc.

It's hard to say about Balika because as a hunter-gatherer she doesn't have many possessions. She has a small hut that she only uses for sleeping, and later she travels with the kassilar sleeping outdoors, so we wouldn't know.
