On Return to Monkey Island we had a lot of Zoom and Slack calls. Other than one team meeting none of them were video calls. Video calls are deceptively exhausting. Try eliminating them and you might be surprised how much better people feel.
@de22920b people ask me that often, about my rule of no camera as much as possible, but it so much better for everyone. any computer screenshare for work/code/assets is the only video I use
@de22920b I’m weird. I do prefer so much more seeing the person/s on the other side. It helps me better understand English (so much is communicated non-verbally) and read the reaction to what I’m saying (am I explaining things correctly?). Makes me 100 to 200% more confident. I imagine it’s the reason why I dislike so much calling someone on the phone!
@de22920b back in the day when I had a job, I noticed I got a lot more done while on audio calls. Even the ones where I was just wandering around the flat. Having to be sat in one place staring down a little camera takes a more effort than it should
