What is Nostr's topology?

Imagine it like a bunch of websites (relays) serving different content. You connect to specific relays for the content you want, like an open market of data exchange.

 They are not quite web sites, they are web servers.  Most relay are web servers without a website.  Its a bit like using a car radio.  Listening to some music, then walking home.
