Honestly the only Mac/iOS app I know of that works well with AUTH is Nostur. https://github.com/nostur-com/nostur-ios-public Damus works ok for most things but it does not handle AUTH race conditions or CLOSED messages correctly so it loses initial filters that it doesn’t retry making the notifications/DMs inconsistent. I can’t stand any of the web clients tbh.
