We grew a decent batch of carrots for a low-effort container garden. I keep saying "next year we should get serious, have like 20 containers, automate the watering system, the light up here is so good." Then we could sell bespoke carrots. https://cdn.masto.host/sauropodswin/media_attachments/files/111/080/652/526/739/479/original/72ee40b5f796e41a.png
@134318c2 I grew a great batch of carrots one year but haven’t been able to grow them since. Not sure why. I also have a lot of sun (central WA state) but must irrigate (desert). I have drip irrigation on a timer. Good harvest of potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and green beans this year, all in 4x4x1 foot containers. I use plastic cherry bins for containers. I bough them used from a pot grower who had gone out of business. https://www.macroplastics.com/blog/using-macro-plastic-bins-and-totes-to-harvest-cherries/
@134318c2 I thought I was growing the best damn carrots once - nice big tops, good greenery on top, everything super promising and perfect and then I finally started pulling them at the end of the year and they were little flattened spheres bot even as long as they were wide. I was like “fuck, I just got trolled by carrots.” I’ve never tried again. xD
