Yes but so the page need to render how long? Would be nice ‘normies’ like me understand it. That is still the biggest thing at nostr that most think like a dev :) I love what you build but this is not clear to me and I think others.
Yeah might be confusing, perhaps I should add an explainer. Is hard to say how long is going to take, could be minutes, hours, days... depends on your computer speed and how "lucky" you are.
Yeah I think so because people can get confused and stop using it.
First the house must adapt to a temporal mechanical system, and then it’s to become worker ants. 🕷️
Organic growth becomes a natural adaptation to the wheels of life as a dynamic adaptive system as a temporal inertial ready when those pennies start dropping. There is nothing to it. Who wouldn’t provide their precious numbers would the machines be dropping pennies there? Eddie minds?
Simple and yet easy enough to understand the complexity of its stupidity. They’ll find you and your friends somewhere being there, getting stupid things out of the unknown.
The development is already on time there. Carpe momentum. 💡 https://image.nostr.build/0b83801cc44e02266027707f991e8aa41eb6c88fb27ebd0c55f2c390177f4cad.png
i don't think the people who came up with the idea of PoW on notes really understood what they were getting into it's not fit for this use case do some research into bitmessage and you probably will find several reasons why it failed spammers will set up ASICs to win proofs before you can say "boo"
I think I read something earlier how ASICs can't be setup to 'break' single SHA256 calculations. Could be dead wrong though.
most asic protocols are built around sending the 80 byte stream so that is a bit of a limitation, but it's firmware, really it only depends on whether the onboard embedded processor can cope with note sized data blobs to hash on i'd guess they are implemented as sponge functions so probably yes in most cases it will require a firmware change but i think that probably GPUs are fast enough to render the rest of users out of the game anyway
How long did you end up waiting and did you do multiple users at once? (Not sure if that makes a difference or not) I've got a fairly fast CPU so was able to get it done in about 15-20 minutes for Epic. I would guess legendary would be 30-60minutes maybe?
This is all new for me🤣 So didn’t get it worked like this 😅 I am a designer/artist not a dev so was surprised why it took so long. If you want Nostr more ‘normie’ friendly this need be clear when you use it. That is more what I am saying. I only use a laptop so looks like I can’t make easy the other badges. With rare I thought only some amount of people can get this reward. Not rare in ‘mining’ it.
yeah that makes alot of sense actually. I'm not exactly sure how PoW works on Nostr but I've been using this site, placing a PoW number on it then seeing how long it takes. https://www.getwired.app/
Yeah I see just @Compromised saying we need to onboard more people at #nostr than I think things need to be simple, you can always ask a ‘normie’ like me if I get it. I only think in colors, lines & shapes 🤣🤣🤣 All other language including program language I can never fully understand. 😅 Thats why I need to talk less, and draw more ✍️
Hah, I wish I could think in colors and shapes! I don't even understand 90% of the programming talk that ever goes on 😅- Always best to ask questions if you're curious at all!
probably some can be modified but it is likely the chips are hard baked to take 80 byte inputs
i should add that definitely a lot of older ones with less grunt won't be because not all SHA256 altcoins had 80 byte long block headers many of them sit idle, uneconomic as anything but a resistave heat element in all seriousness, but this could spawn a new value to chase with them Proof of Work: leave it to the bitcoin chain and forget any other use of it the economics of proof of work are like bitcoin itself: there can be only one more than one target to use it on and the hashpower will dance the tango on your protocol
