The truth, definitive truth is a hard one because it appears from extensive studies that we create our own reality as a coping mechanism. 

Even if we completely dismiss any scientific study, just look around. We say it out loud all the time ..in my view.  

Visitors to my area see beautiful olive trees on immaculate ochre terracing. From my perspective, I see an eco disaster of unfathomable proportions. Probably the "truth" is somewhere in the middle but neither view is wrong.
