Please check that the reply is not from the impersonator before you do so. It makes sense for spammers to make it believable so they can collect zaps with no effort. 🫡
Proving why in certain cases a valid NIP-05 is very important, while also showcasing how it needs to become the norm for clients to do what Nostur app does by tracking possible impersonators. Clients should also drop showing any sort of badge, regardless if it's color is red. That way, more folks might spot an imposter. But it doesn't help that likes of Jack doesn't use a NIP-05 so you'd have to memorize his npub 💀
Weren't kind 1984 events supposed to help with this to some extent? I've not seen any clients using them so i guess they never took off. Seems like it would be really useful to have some kind of "impersonator" flag next to a user name if other people in ones network have flagged an account.
