Not allowed to sell solar energy because it interferes with a government monopoly

This is why I'm not gonna hook up to the grid. Can't regulate me if I'm off the grid, mother Truckers!

 oh neat!
we’re trying to do that too!
baby steps tho lol
 Nanny me harder please
Who cares… mine bitcoin with that excess energy.
Utilities and governments do not like when you become your own utility
 Home mining Bitcoin fixes this
And you’re not allowed to be fully self sufficient because they’ll charge you for a connection to their grid just in case you ever need to use grid power.
this is bad but id love to tell you the buttfuckery that happened in las vegas/nevada with solar. it was epic bullshit
Look into victron and getting a bunch of batteries and storing and having your own backup too 🤷‍♂️👊
Doesn’t this just mean once your electricity bill goes negative you flip on a miner and boom you are getting paid for your electricity?⚡️
Are they saying you can't sell it to your neighbors or just not back to them? I'm not sure but that might be because the concept of selling it back to them could have been more of a sales pitch to incentive people to take the plunge into solar that a practical reality.

This is admittedly not my area of expertise but I always suspected that with low transmission efficiency and possibly the need to upgrade infrastructure to allow pumping excess energy into the grid, the sell it back angle was a sales scam.

I'd be interested to learn from people thet know more about it if my instincts were right or wrong.
