So many things are like this. Missing the forest for the trees if you will. I had some Euro buddies in high school and they always thought it was odd that we would take a car instead of walk for things under a mile during nice weather. "Why does nobody bicycle or walk places?" and yet we wonder why everyone is fat and has lifestyle disease. It's not some one singular thing I'm sure. There's a bunch of stuff that compounds.
Yeah it's pretty unbelievable seeing redditors and normies talking about the distances they would be willing to walk, basically anything over 200m requires a car. 5 miles was a comically huge amount to walk to most of them.

Gosh look how messed up it is from birth to get kids on formula with corn and soy slop, then as they grow they're fed processed junk, fake sugars like aspartame and glyphosated corn, soy, and wheat will destroy their gut microbiome so they can't digest properly, things cooked on pfas containing pans, processed junk wrapped in pfas fast food wrappers, meanwhile everything is leeching and touching plastic with insane additives, and no one moves.

But nope, it's just "eat this one way and it's good!"

These are the people who'll tell you they want 15 minute cities, too.
