What does it mean when you start telling people that your favourite thing about where you now live is “walking the dog on the beach”? Mid-life crisis? Or finally found some zen?
That sounds like a pretty based life.
Totally agree! My old self would not have thought that though
I'm in the same situation. The result is that I'm loved by a dog. I don't know if I'm wouldn't rather be loved by humans if I spent the same amount of time and care for them.
Don’t dismiss humans, some of us are quite nice some of the time. Also try getting your dog to make you a nice cup of tea after you’ve finished lunch. I’ve just finished lunch @mbhardcastle 😂
that sounds lovely. I would love a nice cup of tea, and that's just one reason humans are worth the extra effort... It's just the presence of a dog can make me lazy. it fulfills just enough of the time/friendship that it keeps me from taking the risk of engaging with more humans. I have to consciously reprioritize humans.
i probably would spend a lot less time on nostr if i had a kitty in my lap as i work i just don't think i want to leave another cat behind at this point
i would like a cat just to keep the dog company. they don't work well for my early to bed habit because they like to play at night. when i shared a house with someone with cats, I would wake up and the kitten would be on my chest looking like she was plotting something nefarious. I could never tell if she looked at me like i was protecting her or if I was in her space.
yeah, cats out of the bedroom at night and two doors separated if they have got used to knocking (scratching) on the door, after 2 weeks with cat sleep cycle you are like a parent with newborn child for no reason, they have a 4 hour sleep cycle like infants
MLC fooooo sure.
