Are there any good green energy initiatives or projects in connection to bitcoin in the EU that you are aware of?
Quite a few. Iceland and Finland in particular. Check out what MARA and others are doing with recycled heat in Finland also.
Just to be pedantic, Iceland isn't in the EU, although is closely integrated. Pretty sure Ireland have some good projects too

The book Broken Money by @LynAlden has a chapter about Bitcoin and energy, with many examples from around the world how Bitcoin can help reduce wastage and improve energy production overall. What TEPCO is doing here is another good use case.
The US, the EU and most other western nations have been captured by forces who have no interest in self-sovereignty or freedom. This is the battle.
