I think it frames the need for organizing charity, though. It’s incredibly inefficient to help whoever is in need that exists in a 1 mile radius of you, only with what you have and your skill set versus pooling money for a designated, specialized group to manage. Is it perfectly efficient? No, but a decent start.
Perhaps I was not nuanced enough in my post. I help people that I want to help. I don’t think government is necessary, desirable, or effective to that purpose. Better?
