I think he is afraid of bitcoin changes.. he doesn't see it as a currency, more like a store of value, so further implementation that could create point of failures in order to increase scalability probably scare him. 🤔 

 That's the only thing I can imagine - he is aware of some "commercialisation" or  leverage to DEVs. But same apply for him and there ins't really too much difference on source, I would say. So, why he threatening?
