Is there a reason why I have to hit the zap button 3-6 times to send a zap? It doesn’t happen every time but I’d say 80% of the time in order to zap I have to bang on the ⚡️ I’m committed to zapping but this is like month 2 and I’m getting insecure 🥺Do they not want my zaps?? #asknostr
Can you post some more information. What client you're using and wallet? I probably can't help you but others will be able to with that information.
I use Damus and WOS.
I asked @Ian and he said WOS may be the problem. He recommends trying @Alby as your wallet provider. That's what I use to receive and send sats on damus.
Ok cool! I’ll look into it. I’ve had WOS since I started but I guess change is apart of growing. I appreciate your time helping me figure this out. Thanks 😊
Zappable?
80% unzappable. It’s weird, some people I tap once and it zaps like normal then I’ll scroll and the next 11 posts I go to zap I have to tap minimum 3 times to get the zap going.
It all depends on your sending wallet and their receiving wallet. If someone is using ZeusPay or Alby hub and their wallet is offline when you try to send, then you’ll have to wait until they open Zeus to claim it, or in the case of an offline Alby hub the payment will just fail. Other causes of failure could be poor outgoing liquidity/connectivity from your sending wallet, or on their receiving end. Also some wallet providers like ZBD block payments from IP addresses in certain regions because they’re not legally allowed to operate in those regions.
Ooohhhh, that makes a lot of sense!! Glad to know it’s not me at all, awesome! Thanks so much!!!
Noticed this on Damus as well. It just takes a while for some receiving wallets to send back an invoice so you can have on to pay . Some wallets it is because of minimums they don’t return invoices of certain small amounts
I didn’t know that… seems like having minimums defeats the purpose of being a lightning wallet.
Interoperability can be tough. As someone who has successfully received your zaps, I’m just here to leave this message. https://image.nostr.build/3e2389f411a8d33e766ef27e7640697e8e97cedc69987fd64f951c8b8dad0fe3.jpg
Yay!! This is great news!! Thank you so much! 😊
